Play complete chess matches against a person or adjustable AI in a polished dark command-room interface.

World Chess — Grandmaster Edition is an in-browser chess game built around a full interactive board. Players can choose local human play, challenge the computer, or watch two computer players compete. Beginner, Casual, and Grandmaster settings adjust the AI challenge. During a match, the interface tracks whose turn it is, elapsed time, captured-piece value, and algebraic move history. Controls provide a fresh game, undo, board rotation, move hints, and sound toggling, while dedicated overlays handle promotion and completed games.

How to Use

Choose a match mode
Select Human vs Human for local shared-board play, vs Computer for a solo match, or Computer vs Computer to observe an automated game. For computer play, choose Beginner, Casual, or Grandmaster to set the challenge.
Make a move
Select one of the current side's pieces and then choose a legal destination on the board. The position, turn indicator, clocks, captured values, and move list update after the move, and the computer responds automatically when enabled.
Use match controls
Select Hint when you want a suggested move, Undo to reverse recent play, Flip to rotate the board, or the sound control to change audio feedback. New Game resets the board and starts a fresh match with the selected setup.
Finish and restart
Continue until the interface reports the final game state. The game-over panel summarizes the result and provides controls to close it or begin another match.
