// description

An animated scrolling story that retells the history of Tetris, ending in a small playable demo.

Tetris - A História de um Bloco is a single-page, scroll-driven website that tells the history of the puzzle game Tetris. The page opens on a pixel-art hero with floating tetromino pieces, then walks through the story year by year: the game's creation in 1984 Moscow by Alexey Pajitnov, the seven tetromino shapes, how the code spread past the Iron Curtain, the legal fight over its rights, and how the Game Boy made it a global phenomenon. Each section fades in as you scroll, animated counters count up key numbers, a year-based navigation bar jumps between chapters, and a small playable Tetris demo at the end lets you drop blocks and fill lines.

How to Use

  1. Start at the hero

    Open the page and you land on a dark hero with the pixel-style TETRIS title and colored tetromino pieces drifting across the screen. A hint at the bottom tells you to scroll down, and the top navigation lists the years of the story.

  2. Scroll or jump by year

    Scroll down, or click any year button in the top navigation, to move between chapters. Each section fades in as it enters view, and the stats inside it count up, so you can read the history of the game in order or jump straight to the period you want.

  3. Try the block demo

    At the end of the page there is a small playable Tetris board with a yellow DROP button. Press it to drop a piece onto the grid; pieces stack up, and completing a row clears it. There is no score or timer, it is a short hands-on homage rather than a full game.
