A browser puzzle built around spotting a rule you are never told

FATHOM — The Silent Rule Trial is an interactive inference puzzle that runs entirely in the browser. The player is shown three example sets that already obey an unspoken rule, then four candidate sets, and must choose the one that follows the same law. The rule is never named during play and no feedback is given between chambers. After all ten chambers the game presents a Fathom Index estimate together with correct answers, total time, consistency and four category bars, followed by a chamber review that revisits each attempt.

How to Use

Start the trial
Open the site and choose Enter the trial on the landing screen. A short How it works panel explains the three-step loop and offers a Begin chamber 1 button, which begins the first puzzle.
Study the examples
Each chamber shows three example sets that follow an unspoken rule. Look at their colours, counts, positions and shapes; some details may belong to the rule while others are only noise.
Choose and lock
Four numbered candidates appear below the examples. Select the one you believe obeys the same rule, using the mouse or the keys 1 to 4, then press Lock answer to move on. No result is revealed during the run.
Read your result
After the tenth chamber the result screen shows your Fathom Index, correct answers, total time, consistency and four category bars. A chamber review at the bottom marks each attempt as solved or broken and explains the rule that was in play.
